What is CAMRA?
CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale is an independent, voluntary organisation campaigning for real ale, community pubs and consumer rights.
CAMRA supports well-run pubs as the centres of community life – whether in rural or urban areas – and believe their continued existence play a critical social role in UK culture.
CAMRA also supports the pub as the one place in which to consume real ale (also known as cask-conditioned beer, or cask ale) and to try one of over 5,500 different styles now produced across the UK.
Shropshire is a beautiful part of England with a thriving heritage of agriculture and industry both past and present. The industrial revolution started here. Our history and amazing countryside is a big part of why so many people visit Shropshire and is something Salopians are very proud of. This pride in traditional crafts means it also a great place to taste locally made ales and ciders.
Our patch ranges from Much Wenlock in the west to Albrighton in the east, and from Market Drayton and Woore in the north to Burford near Tenbury Wells in the south. MAP

Ale Sabrina is a quarterly magazine named after the Latin version of Hafren, the Welsh goddess of the river Severn. It is a free, independent publication that is distributed to pubs all around our region. It contains articles of interest relating to our area and further afield, pub and brewery news and notices of forthcoming events. Pick up a copy today!
If you would like Ale Sabrina delivered to your pub, please contact Telford and East Shropshire CAMRA and we will drop some off to you.
In the Summer edition of Ale Sabrina, it was mistakenly reported that the current tenant of The Old Fighting Cocks in Oakengates has left the pub. This is incorrect and TES CAMRA sends its apologies to David and everyone at the pub for this misleading statement.
What?Pub is CAMRA's guide to every pub in the UK
that serves real ale, with features such as opening times, mealtimes, accommodation and much more. The information has been compiled by the
individual branches and is kept up to date by them. If you are searching for a
specific type of pub, say one with B&B and evening meals, and near a
railway station you can tick the filter boxes and thereby only see
establishments with those features. Once you have found a pub or pubs, you
will also be able to click on their website if they have one. All this is
available to everyone. Additionally, for CAMRA members, having logged on
with membership no. and password,(your postcode without spaces and in small
letters), you can enter beer scores for the pubs you visit. Just a little
practice will show you there is superb predictive text. Start typing SALOPIAN
and before you have reached the L, it will offer the complete word. And
having entered the brewery name, it will then list all the beers made by
that brewery, and all you have to do is click on it. Hardly any difficult
typing needed!! Just click on the What?Pub image above.
